The speed control works smoothly. It does not affect the integrity of lid. The only flaw I found was a tight crack about half inch long in stainless steel lid at corner.

And, as you can see in the pictures, it is very nice and clean condition. The temperature adjusts properly and stays within a degree of set once it settles in.
