Lases properly. The laser comes with a heavy duty cooling fan mounted to the laser head. The potentiate on the pus works to modulate power to the head. See photos.
I have owned it since 2009 and have put maybe 5 hours total on it since then i'm not sure how many hours it had at that point. Guaranteed not DOA. The model is a Spectra physics 163 a1202 head with a JD uni phase pus 2101 15slb.
The spot profile can be cleaned up by cleaning the optics on the head, but there is a minor spot in the periphery that I haven't been able to correct. I don't have a use for it, but it has still taken me 6 years to sell it because 488nm is just so beautiful.
