I did not try increasing it above that. I tested the output with my digital power meter: when Amps were set to got readings around 13.4mW; 2.20, was 72.5mW; and 2.50, 250mW, as shown in photos.

The unit powers up, and the display is bright clear, it responds to input from buttons, emits a red laser beam, intensity adjustable.
